Engineering Plastics
HDPE
High Density Polyethylene
Korssé HDPE has an excellent tensile strength and impact resistance. Its relatively lightweight composition, low level of water absorption, low coefficient of friction and good chemical resistance makes it suitable for use in applications that require high level of physical demand. Natural coloured HDPE is a certified food-safe material
PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene
PTFE is a fluorocarbon solid, with a high-molecular-weight compound consisting wholly of carbon and fluorine. Neither water and water-containing substances nor oil and oil-containing substances are wet by PTFE, making it suitable for use in chemically demanding applications. Korssé PTFE has one of the lowest coefficients of friction against any solid.
UHMWPE
Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene
Korssé UHMWPE offers a combination of excellent properties – outstanding abrasion resistance, superior impact resistance, non-sticking and self-lubricating properties and excellent mechanical properties, even in cryogenic conditions. It also reduces noise from impacts and vibrations. It is a self-lubricating material that is chemical, corrosion, and wear-resistant.
POM
Polyacetal
Korssé polyacetal is a polymer with an excellent level of impact strength and stiffness. Its good dimensional stability and wear resistance makes it very suitable to be used in machining applications, such as in the making of gears, wheels and bushings. Its weather-resistance and excellent impact strength often makes it the best weight-saving replacement for metals.
PA6
Nylon
Nylon is one of the most widely used engineering plastics in applications that require very high level of wear resistance. Korssé Nylon has an excellent level of impact strength, tensile strength and chemical resistance. Due to its structural performance, it is often used as a replacement for other materials, such as woods, steel, aluminum, and metals. Common applications include the fabrication of mechanical gears, impact bushings and wheels. Natural colored nylon is also certified for use in food processing facilities.
PA6G
MC Cast Nylon
Korssé Cast Nylon has improved Nylon properties by being polymerized and molded under atmospheric pressure, which extruded or injected materials cannot provide. It is used in a variety of bearing and custom structural applications.
PEEK
Polyetheretherketone
PEEK is a super high performance plastic that can withstand very high temperatures. Korssé PEEK has excellent strength and stiffness, toughness and impact resistance. It has a V-0 fire rating and a tensile strength greater than most other plastics. It is also suitable for food, aerospace, medical, pharmoceutical, oil, gas and other high performance industries.
PI
Polyimide
Polyimides are a very interesting group of incredibly strong and astoundingly heat and chemical resistant polymers. Their strength and heat and chemical resistance are so great that these materials often replace glass and metals, such as steel, in many demanding industrial applications. Korssé polyimides are specially manufactured to ensure optimal material performance.
PVC
Polyvinyl chloride
PVC is an excellent and very useful engineering plastic material. It is a very popular material and has many and varied uses within industry and fabrication applications. Korssé PVC is often used in the fabrication industry to line or clad chemical tanks, because of its ability and resistance to chemical attack and its excellent fabrication and forming potential.
PP
Polypropylene
Polypropylene are known for their chemical and corrosion resistance. It is used in a wide range of application where high rigidity, very good welding and processing properties are required. Korssé polypropylene materials are well-known in the industry for its versatility, making it the number one choice for lining applications.
PU
Polyurethane
Polyurethane is a highly elastic material with good insulation properties. It is commonly used in the fabrication of gaskets, bushings and non-slip matresses. Korssé PU has a rubbery form factor and is semi-transparent in nature. Its toughness, crack-resistant and elastic properties often makes it the suitable replacement of rubber.
